League of Legends is a behemoth in the competitive esports sphere, where the most talented players get to showcase their gaming prowess before crowds of spectators in yearly professional tournaments.

The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) runs two seasons per year, split across Spring and Summer. The winner and the runner-up from the LCK qualify for the 2023 Mid-Seasonal Invitational (MSI) to represent their region.

The LCK Spring 2023 is the first split and kicked off with a bang on January 18. Ten teams are competing for the first LCK title of the year and the lion's share of the USD $300,000 prize pool. The LCK LoL Spring 2023 regular season is a long-winded process of nine weeks, running until March 19. The grand finals will be held on April 9, 2023.

LCK Spring 2023: Format

10 teams will face off in a double round-robin group stage where matches are best-of-three. The top six teams qualify for the Spring playoffs, while the playoffs top two teams receive a bye into Round 2 of the playoffs. 

In the playoffs, there is a double elimination bracket starting from Round 2. The first and second seeds receive a bye into Round 2. The third to sixth seeds begin in Round 2, and the losers are eliminated.

The winner of the LCK Spring playoffs will be crowned as the LCK Spring Champion, automatically qualifying for the MSI 2023 Bracket Stage. The runner-up will also qualify for the Bracket Stage.

The venue hosting the LCK Spring 2023 season is the LoL Park e-sports stadium in Seoul, South Korea, which seats up to 400 spectators.
