The most challenging aspect of the beloved farming sim, Stardew Valley, is the long grind required to collect all items and achieve 100% Perfection on your wholesome homestead.

Items like Prismatic Shards or Radioactive Ore are extremely hard to come by. In an age where immediate gratification is the norm, finding legitimate exploit methods becomes essential.

While plenty of PC mods exist to make the game easier, many players prefer to enjoy the vanilla version. After all, vanilla is the best flavor.

Luckily, there are ways to manipulate and exploit the game's code without the need for mods, allowing you to enjoy the base version while quickly acquiring valuable items with minimal effort

Keep reading for all the details you need on Stardew Valley item codes, including how to use them, how to change your in-game character name, and the best codes to exploit.

What are Stardew Valley item codes?

Nearly every item in Stardew Valley has a unique numerical value, represented inside brackets. Exploiting these Stardew Valley item codes is the best way to spawn items instantly.

This is done by appending an item's ID to your character's name. Every time a Pelican Town NPC says your name—essentially the item code—the item linked to that specific code will magically spawn in your inventory. Ezpz!

How to use Stardew Valley item codes

You can list one to three item codes in your name at a time, each surrounded by square brackets. This can give you up to three items. For example, your character could be named '[74][903][858].' Once confirmed, whenever an NPC says your name during dialogue, you'll get a Prismatic Shard, a Radioactive Ore, and a Qi Gem automatically in your inventory

To get an NPC to repeat your name frequently, head to the Stardrop Saloon every day as soon as Gus opens his doors. You can then chat with him an infinite number of times, generating hundreds of your chosen items.

You can be in the Saloon from 12 PM until 2 AM to maximize your item gains before passing out. This gives you around 14 hours to repeatedly talk to Gus and fill your pockets. To get through the dialogue quicker, you can spam-press 'X' to close the current chat box and restart the conversation.

Additionally, you can call Gus (or Pierre before 12 PM) using the phone inside your Farmhouse as a faster method of obtaining items without having to leave your farm.

How to change your Stardew Valley in-game name

If you want to change your in-game name to one of the following Stardew Valley item codes, don't worry! All you need to do is befriend the Wizard to at least a four-heart relationship. You can achieve this by chatting with him daily and giving him his favorite gifts twice a week.

Giving him a Loved present on Winter 7, his birthday, will also boost the number of friendship points you earn.

Once you've reached a four-heart friendship, you'll unlock the Wizard's Tower Basement. Inside the Basement, you'll find the golden Shrine of Illusion. For a mere 500G, you can completely alter your appearance and gender, as well as change your name.

As a fun easter egg, if you change your name to '[74],' the code for Prismatic Shards, an ominous message from Mr. Qi will appear, expressing his disappointment.

Useful Stardew Valley Item Codes

This list of codes has been provided explicitly by Stardew Valley developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone to use in the item spawning cheat. We have skipped over some items codes for useless artifacts, trash, and other unimportant items.

We will be adding the item codes from the latest 1.6 update as soon as we have more information, so bookmark this page for more!
