A new League of Legends patch comes out roughly every two weeks, typically on a Wednesday. Whether you're a tryhard solo queue player or someone who likes to play casually, staying up-to-date with these new additions to the game is essential to climbing the ranks and generally playing better.
Next up is League of Legends patch 14.8, scheduled to release midway through April. Compared to previous content updates, League patch 14.8 is slated to be the famed MSI update.
There will be a handful of champion buffs and nerfs across the board for characters who aren't performing to Riot's current standards. There will also be three new skins to purchase and a small boost for Void Grubs in the Baron Pit.
Keep reading for the early patch notes for League of Legends 14.8, including all the balance changes, new skins, and system updates. The following patch notes are subject to change between now and their release on April 17, 2024.
Based on Riot Games' official patch schedule for 2024, League of Legends patch 14.8 is scheduled for release on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
Similar to previous patches, the adjustments for LoL patch 14.8 will be gradually released throughout the day to accommodate different time zones and worldwide servers. The update will commence with the Oceanic server at approximately 10 AM AEST.
Here's (roughly) when you can expect the new League of Legends patch to roll out:
Riot Games will temporarily deactivate all matchmaking queues while League of Legends patch 14.8 is implemented. To safeguard your hard-earned LP, you should refrain from joining competitive queues while this update is in progress.
As always, Riot Games maintains a delicate balance by nerfing overpowered champions while bringing underrated characters back into the meta mix with much-needed buffs and stat adjustments.
After the massive game update in the previous patch notes for 14.7 and Skarner's rework, Riot Games is taking things down a notch with League of Legends patch 14.8. They will attempt to make Void Grubs a jungle priority by buffing the damage the Touch of the Void buff does to structures when sieging.
Changes are also expected for some top lane champions, including Mordekaiser. Reworked Skarner has also fielded a poor performance since the official launch, so Riot Games will be monitoring him closely and may implement a minor fix here and there in this next patch to boost his win rate and current game state.
Change up your look for some of your favorite champions with the upcoming skins. There are three new additions to the iconic Blood Moon skin line. Here are the price points and rarities for each of the new skins.
