TI9 Day 4: No surprises in the lower bracket as Liquid beats EG in decisive fashion
The International 9 continued with a set of lower bracket matches which all ended in a 2-0 result but told very different stories across each of the series.
It was the end of the fairytales today: Team Liquid crushed RNG’s hopes and dreams, with the second match of the series turning into a marathon, crossing the 78-minute mark at the end.
Team Secret set up a meeting with Vici Gaming after taking out Infamous in straightforward fashion: it seemed like the pressure got to the South Americans as they got closer to the summit than anyone else in the region’s history.
Liquid also managed to win their second series of the day against EG, guaranteeing themselves a top 5 finish and at least a million dollars in winnings.
TI9 continues tomorrow with LGD vs OG, Team Secret vs Vici Gaming and the winner of the latter series going up against Liquid.
