We're a little late to the party, but the League PickEms for LoL Worlds 2024 are officially live! Riot Games wants more League of Legends players to get involved in watching the Worlds 2024 action, with the chance to earn rewards by making correct picks on some of the biggest LoL World Championship matches— from the Play-Ins all the way to the Grand Final.

LoL Worlds 2024: Pick'Em Schedule

The League Pick'Ems for LoL Worlds 2024 kicked off a week before the tournament, starting with the Crystal Ball Pick'Ems and Play-In Stage predictions on September 18.

The Crystal Ball Pick'Ems challenge players to flex their game knowledge and predictive skills, asking tournament-long questions like which champions will be banned the most, which dragon will be killed the most, and—most importantly—who will take home the Worlds 2024 crown.

By participating in League Crystal Ball Pick'Ems, you can earn amazing rewards such as the Orianna "I'm So Sorry, WHAT?" Emote, the Briar "I Was Rooting For You" Emote, and Esports 2024 Capsules.

After the Crystal Ball, the Swiss Stage predictions opened on September 29 and closed on October 3. In this phase, Pick'Em players predicted which eight out of 16 teams would advance to the Knockouts Stage. There was also a chance to score extra points by picking a team to pull off a flawless 3-0.

Finally, the Knockouts predictions will open on October 13 and run until November 2, giving players a final opportunity to make their predictions and follow the action through to the tournament's thrilling conclusion.

LoL Worlds 2024: Crystal Ball Predictions

For the Crystal Ball League Pick'Ems, there are different categories where you can make your expert predictions. These will test your in-game knowledge and expertise on the League of Legends pro scene.

You have six options: Ocean, Hextech, Cloud, Mountain, Infernal, or Chemtech. Our only suggestion is to avoid Chemtech and Ocean, as they typically have lower kill priority for the pro teams.

#3: "Who will be banned the most during Champion Select at Worlds?"

This prediction tests your knowledge of both the pro scene and the current meta. Our pick is K’Sante, who continues to dominate the Top Lane despite recent nerfs. His ability to tank and still deal significant damage makes him a prime ban candidate, especially as he can 1v5 if played right. Other strong contenders for most-banned include Aurora, Rumble, Syndra, and Lucian.

#4 "Who will be played the most in different roles at Worlds?"

Flex picks are crucial at Worlds, and players often use champions across multiple roles to outsmart their opponents in Champion Select. For this category, we’re choosing Poppy, given her versatility in both the Support and Top Lane roles. Other solid flex picks to consider include Gragas, who can be played in Jungle, Top, or even Mid, or Lucian who can be played as ADC or in Mid.

#5: "Which team will win Worlds?"

This is the big one—predicting the Worlds 2024 champion. Based on recent performances and expert analysis, our bet is on Gen.G Esports to take home the title. They’ve looked incredibly strong throughout the year. That said, T1, despite being the reigning champs, had a rough LCK Summer Split, barely qualifying as the 4th seed for Worlds 2024. While you can never count out the GOAT squad, Gen.G seems like the safer bet this time around.

LoL Worlds 2024: Our Pick'Em Predictions

With the reigning supremacy of LPL and LCK teams in recent international tournaments, we can expect most of their representatives to advance deep into the Knockout Stage, with some likely to reach the finals. Teams like Hanwha Life Esports (HLE), Gen.G Esports (GEN), Dplus KIA (DK), T1, Bilibili Gaming (BLG), Top Esports (TES), and LNG Esports (LNG) are strong contenders, having shown consistent performances throughout the year.

Weibo Gaming (WBG) has struggled in scrims and recent matches, leading us to leave them out of our Knockouts predictions for now.

There’s often an outlier Western team from the LEC or LCS that manages to break into the Knockout Stage. Based on recent performances, G2 Esports has the skill and cohesion to challenge the Eastern dominance, while FlyQuest could also surprise, having shown potential earlier this year.
