StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3: Gambit and Aster advance to playoffs

March 05, 2020

With the opening matches of the third Minor of the DPC season out of the way, we now know two of the playoff teams. Gambit beat out Alliance on home soil in a suprise result while Team Aster secured the top spot in Group A with a comfortable win over forZe.

The CIS side has made great use of the home-court advantage so far, winning four out of four games en route to the playoff. A comfortable 2-0 win over the former Fighting PandaS (now playing under the CR4ZY banner) was followed by a series against the tournament favorites, and they've definitely managed to rise to the challenge. Both games were a massacre with just 35 and 33 minutes needed to secure the decisive victories.

Over in Group A, Team Aster began their journey with a win over minnows BOOM, then continuing to live up their designation as favorites against forZe who sprung a bit of a surprise with their win over the ex-J.Storm side in their opener. The CIS side had its chances off the back of some spectacular Meepo play in the opening game, but it wasn't enough in the end to secure the W. The Chinese quickly closed things out in Game 2, which means both upper bracket teams are currently undefeated, winning 8 out of 8 games total.
