B8 eliminated from WePlay! Tug of War Mad Moon as VP and Secret set up meeting in upper bracket final

February 21, 2020

Dendi’s new Dota 2 side was the first to be eliminated in the playoffs at Luxembourg as they lost all four of their playoff games in the competition. Nigma and Gambit proved to be too much for the new CIS side. KuroKy’s men went on to face Secret in the semis, but they fell to the lower bracket, setting up a meeting between the group winners.

Three down, four to go

The GSL group stage saw Infamous and NiP go out in fourth place, with B8 and Aggressive Mode squeaking by via the best-of-three elimination series over the aforementioned sides. Secret and Virtus.pro were deserved winners, beating out Gambit and Nigma in their respective single-game decider matches.

The new-look VP remain undefeated in the competition so far, winning every single match on their way to the winners’ finals. Their total game score ready 6-1, their only loss suffered during their Group B encounter with Nigma. After Nigma's loss to Secret in the semifinals, VP's opponents in tomorrow’s game will be Puppey's men, setting up a battle between an unstoppable force and an immovable object.

Meanwhile, Nighma will have to battle through the lower bracket now, first against WePlay! Reshuffle Madness 2019 winners Aggressive Mode, with Gambit waiting for the winner in the next round.
